Oracle has introduced a new, much faster and more interactive Error Portal. In this document we show you how to configure it so that it can be used with the intelligent search function of the main browsers, such as Chrome. That is, with this configuration you will have a mechanism where by typing a predefined shortcut (usually error related) and the Oracle error number directly in the browser URL field, Oracle will search directly in the Oracle Error Portal documentation.
In case you do not configure this option, you can always access the portal directly through this URL: https://docs.oracle.com/en/error-help/db/
By default the error of the current version will appear, at this point 23c, but the error message is maintained as it appeared in the previous compatible versions.

Oracle Maintains the error as shown in previous supported versions

SMART CONFIGURATION OF THE ORACLE ERROR PORTAL IN BROWSERS
In this example we are going to perform the configuration on Chrome.
In the Chrome browser, go to Settings -> Search -> Manage search engines and site searches.

Once you have clicked on the "Manage Search Engines and Site Searches" button, go to "Site Searches" and click on the "Add" button.

Add a new search engine, for this you need to fill in 3 entries: Name of the search engine, the shortcut that will reference the portal and the URL of the Oracle error portal.
Therefore it would be filled in as follows:

The added values are:
Search Engine: It will be the name that will appear in your search engine when referring to the "Shortcut".
Shortcut: Shortcut that we will use to refer to the Oracle error portal normally related to error (err, error, etc).
URL: URL of the Oracle Error portal. https://docs.oracle.com/error-help/db/%s/
Now by simply referring to the name chosen in the shortcut, in our case "error" in the browser, plus the error number, a search will be performed directly in Oracle's error log.

The browser, at this point, will give you the option to search directly in the Oracle portal or in the Web, as if it were a regular search. We search directly in the Portal, as follows:

The option of being able to add a new Oracle error finder is quite useful and its application is, as you can see, very simple.
